Professional Background
Sarah Gutschlag is the director and head designer at The Flower Room.
A member of the NZ Professional Florists Society for 17 years. Sarah's career highlights date back to 1995 when she acheived the highest award in NZ floristry for her age group, the Ethel Black trophy for 'Top Junior florist in NZ'.
Sarah operated a successful florist in downtown Queenstown from 1997 -2000. During this time she was the runner up in Interfloras Under 25 Florist of the Year competition. Sarah is featured in Jacqui Thomas's book titled "Go Girl Go". A collection of inspirational woman's storys who run business throughout NZ.
Sarah has been involved in creating beautiful settings and flowers for many weddings and special events. She adores creating complimentry settings for clients in the beautiful scenery and divine venues within the Wakatipu.
Sarah has been a part of creating flowers for celebrity weddings such as Petra Bagust and Hamish Wilson in 2000. Sarah was the floral stylist for the romantic lodge wedding of Mandy and Dean Barker and the fabulous winter wedding of Jay Jay and Dom from The Edge Radio Station both in 2004.She also looked after news presenter Tony Veitch and Zoe Halford and NZ netball star Belinda Colling and Charlie in their Wanaka wedding, both in 2007.
The Flower Room was born in November 2005. It has grown and developed into Central Otago's sort after wedding and event florist.
